If you’re going out this weekend, there’s a good chance you’ll hear “Monster Mash,” Purple People Eater” or the Addams Family theme at some point — and you won’t be scared at all. On this edition of All Songs Considered, Bob Boilen and Jacob Ganz, editor of NPR’s music news blog The Record, put those Halloween staples aside to focus on the music they and our listeners find truly, deeply terrifying.

Legendary British dub producer Adrian Sherwood finally released a solo album “Never trust a Hippy” in 2003. Of course he’d been the driving force behind the On-U Sound label and bands like Dub Syndicate & Tackhead for decades before that. Here you see him in action!
‘Boogaloo (drowning not raving mix)’ is only to be found on the Japanese edition of Adrian Sherwood’s brilliant debut album ‘Never trust a Hippy’. This is the video for that track showing the dub master in live action.
